Tracing the lines of fatigue— the dip of shoulders, oxen straining a yoke, the coil of a dropped rope— "Shoulder Lines Sinking" explores descending forms and shapes of exhaustion through soft sculpture and fiber installations. The exhibition will be accompanied by a limited edition catalogue featuring an essay by Julia Schwadron. Sarah Lillegard is an interdisciplinary artist living and working in Reno, Nevada. She received her BA from Walla Walla University and is currently an MFA candidate at Sierra Nevada College. Lillegard has participated in artist residencies in Utah, Nevada and Michigan. In 2015, she received the Nevada Arts Council Artist Fellowship and was recently included in Tilting the Basin at the Nevada Museum of Art. Her work is informed by the Great Basin and invested in how we perceive places. Refreshments courtesy of Wild River Grille. Free and open to the public.
